| Cabin cruiser (small, power driven vessels) |  |
| Coastal tug (often identified by the low and somewhat extended aft deck) |  |
| Fishing vessel (often identified by the upright poles that, when in operation, will be lowered to roughly 45 degrees) |  |
| Seining vessel (commonly has a derrick facing aft of the superstructure as well as netting and a net drum on the aft deck) |  |
| Trawler (often has a net drum and possibly an A frame on the aft deck) |  |
| Ferry (large, often double ended vessel that is well lit at night) |  |
| Cruise ship (large, extremely well lit vessel with large superstructure) |  |
| LNG Carrier (often identified by its large, spherical tanks that protrude above deck) |  |
| Bulk Carrier (usually indicated by the many cranes/derricks used to transfer cargo) |  |
| Container Ship (can be identified by the existence of cargo containers above deck and its superstructure is often 3/4's towards the stern) |  |
| Oil Tanker (indicated by a mostly flat deck and it's superstructure at the stern) |  |
